Owners of unregistered radio electronic devices will be fined in Azerbaijan

The State Administration of Radio Frequencies under the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communications and High Technologies will impose penalties in relation to legal and physical entities that are illegally using the radio-electronic devices in the country, according to the report.

The number of the radio-electronic devices imported to the country and used for wireless and satellite communication, including TV and radio broadcasting has been recently significantly increased, the administration said.

The appropriate cases will be filed and the penalties will be imposed against those using the unregistered radio-electronic devices in the country, according to the Azerbaijani Code of Administrative Offences.

The penalties at the rate of 25 to 40 conventional financial units, officials - from 75 to 90 conventional financial units, legal entities - from 200 to 250 conventional financial units will be imposed to the physical entities.

One conventional financial unit equals 1.1 manat in Azerbaijan.

As of the first quarter of 2014, the administration revealed 53 unregistered radio-electronic devices. Some 174 companies and organizations were technically inspected during this period. Some 10 of the total number of unregistered radio-electronic devices were sealed. The other 43 are being registered.

Six protocols were formalized for the users of unregistered radio-electronic devices. The appropriate legal measures were made.
