A presentation of an informational video and a roundtable discussion on the results of 'Keep your physical activity up' project took place in Baku today, according to a message from Coca-Cola.

It is a joint initiative of the public association 'Youth Development' and Coca-Cola, organized with the support of the Center for Social Health and Reforms (İSİM) of Azerbaijani Healthcare Ministry.

Nasrin Babazadeh, the chairwoman of 'Youth Development' NGO in her opening remarks presented the project and stressed that it created a strong resonance both among partners and the public in general.

Moreover, the project was placed within the framework of 'Azerbaijani Youth in 2011-2015' State Program and was supported by the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Ministry of Education, the Executive Power of Narimanov district, the Center for Social Health and Reforms and the Department of Youth and Sports of Narimanov District Executive Power.

Ms. Babazadeh also mentioned that despite the fact that the project is over, they could proudly say that 'Be active, be healthy, be a winner in life' project with Coca-Cola was one of the most successful and useful projects of the 'Youth Development' NGO.

Sustainability of the project is ensured at both the local and the state levels.

Youth festivals related to the International Day of Physical Activity were held in Binagadi this year and in Narimanov district last year. The Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Center for Social Health and Reforms, as well as the Executive Power of the aforementioned districts had been supporting the festivals on a continuous basis.

The event also featured an expert presentation on the main topic of the project and the round table meting 'Physical activity and health' and a photo exhibition featuring various events of the project.

The key element of the event was the presentation of an informational video to be broadcast by state channels, in order to inspire a more active and healthier life style (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OHyF5KKAvCU).

The results of the project were endorsed by endocrinologist Yegana Sultanova and cardiologist Samir Askerov who underlined the importance of physical activity in the prevention of non-communicable diseases.

The 'Keep your physical activity up' project is aimed at raising awareness about the importance of physical activity and balanced nutrition for health.

Within the scope of the program, trainings took place at schools, informational materials were distributed among the target audiences and an informational video was prepared for broadcast on state channels
