Several Mines buried by Armenians Discovered in Agdam District

3 anti-tank Armenian mines have been discovered during the mine operations in the territory of Ergi village of Agdam district of Azerbaijan, held by the Humanitarian Organization Dayag, Trend Regional Correspondent reports.

According to the Manager of Dayag Ehtiram Jafarov, since 2003 the organization has cleared 17 mines (1,706,421 sq.m) in Giyamaddinli village of Agdam district, under the leadership of the Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA). As a result 25 anti-tank, 4 anti-personnel and 56 ammunition have been discovered.

In July of this year, mine operations have been held in 583,256 sq.m territory of Ergi village of Agdam district. 6 antitank and 9 ammunitions have been discovered. Generally 31 anti-tank, 4 anti-personnel mines and 56 ammunitions have been discovered in the territory of Agdam and Agjebedi districts.

ANAMA plans to use mine-detecting machinery to these territories. Currently mine-detectors and trained dogs are being used.
