During his interview to the foreign media, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yun Yen Gvan said Azerbaijan had been working towards opening its official representative office in Seoul since the start of bilateral relations between the two countries in 1992. He also added that in May 2006 the agreement between Roh Mo-hun, the South Korean President and Ilham Aliyev, his Azerbaijani counterpart had contributed to the process.
South Korea established diplomatic missions in Eurasian states in March last year that were further developed into embassies. Azerbaijan 's embassy was due to be opened last year but was then delayed, stated the Ministry of Foreign Affairs official. He added that trade turnover between the two countries was USD 41 mln last year.
