Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend , corr. P. Amirdjanov/ Today, on March 19, 2007, Azerbaijan's Presidemnt. Ilham Aliyev has signed a Decree on Pardon, Trend reports referring to National AzTV Channel.
According to the Presidential Decree, the sentence of Karamat Pasha oghlu Karimov, who were sentenced to life imprisonment by the Supreme Court of the Country on May 20, 1999, was replaced by 25-year imprisonment. The other 85 prisoners, sentenced by the Supreme Court were totally released from their rest term of imprisonment.
At the same time, Said Nuriyev, who was put by the Azerbaijan Court for Serious Crimes ton probation, was released from the punishment. The other nine persons were released from their rest term of imprisonment, with four other ones, earlier sentenced to fine, were released from this punishment as well.
