The Baku 2015 European Games is a great experience for athletes and makes an important contribution to the development of sports, the British gymnast Brinn Bevan told Trend on June 14.
The gymnast expressed satisfaction with the conditions created in Azerbaijan for athletes.
He said Azerbaijan is a beautiful country, adding that all the necessary conditions were created for athletes in the Athletes Village.
Bevan said the beautiful scenery of Baku can be viewed from the village, and noted that he is very happy to be in the city.
Excellent conditions were also created in the National Gymnastics Arena, said the athlete.
Bevan, noting that the arena is equipped with modern facilities, said he enjoys the competitions and the Baku 2015 European Games remind him of the London 2012 Olympic Games.
The gymnast also said these competitions mean a lot to him. He also added that the Games is a great experience for athletes.
The European Games that kicked off in Baku June 12, will last till June 28.
There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports. More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe will be representing their nations over 17 days of competition.
Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
