European Games - biggest competitions in Europe, Irish boxing coach says

The first European Games are the grand and important competitions and Azerbaijan has organized them well, Irish boxing coach Billy Walsh told Trend June 26.
Walsh added that Azerbaijan has modern and comfortable sports infrastructure. He said the country created excellent conditions for the athletes, including modern sports arenas.
Walsh stressed the importance of holding the European Games in the future.
"These are the biggest competitions in Europe," he said. "They are of great importance for the development of sport. I believe that the European Games must be carried out in the future."
He said that he has visited Azerbaijan for the second time and liked this country.
"I was in Azerbaijan in 2004," he said. "During this time, much has been changed. Baku is a beautiful city."
The European Games kicked off in Baku June 12 and will last till June 28. There is a total of 20 sports at Baku 2015: 16 Olympic sports and four non-Olympic sports.
More than 6,000 athletes from across Europe came to Baku to represent their nations over 17 days of competition. Baku was awarded the games by the European Olympic Committees (EOC) in December 2012.
