One of the main goals of SOCAR (State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) is to cover 10 percent of Romania's re-fueling market, SOCAR said Oct. 15, citing the head of a SOCAR office in Romania Hamza Karimov.

Karimov delivered speech as part of the foreign investor summit in Bucharest. He said that SOCAR is among the ten big companies which invest in Romania's economy.

Currently, there are around 30 SOCAR's filling stations in 13 districts of Romania.

SOCAR is the only oil producer in Azerbaijan (it has two refineries on its balance), and also owns petrol stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.

In 2013, SOCAR exported from its own refineries around 1.04 million metric tons of oil compared to more than 1.24 million metric tons in 2012. In total Azerbaijan produced 5.09 million metric tons of petroleum products last year.
