Azerbaijan manufactured 1,781 cars in Jan.-Sept. 2014, which is 5.5 times more than in the same period of 2013, the country's State Statistical Committee said in its report for the first nine months of 2014.
The country produced 424 cars in 2013, or 21.8 percent less than in 2012.
Around 202 trucks were produced in Azerbaijan in Jan.-Sept. 2014, which is one percent more than in the same period of 2013, according to the report.
This is while, the number of trucks produced in Azerbaijan in 2013, totaled 246, or 52.8 percent more than in 2012.
The country also produced 1,014 tractors in Jan.-Sept. 2014, which is 2.1 percent more than in the same period of 2013.
Azerbaijan produced some 739 tractors in 2013, which is 19.6 percent more than in 2012.
Currently, two vehicle manufacturing plants - Nakhchivan and Ganja automobile plants - operate in Azerbaijan.
