The Executive Director of the State Oil Fund of Azerbaijan (SOFAZ) Shahmar Movsumov was elected to the new Supervisory Board of VTB Bank, where he has been serving as an independent member since June 28, 2013.
The message of the bank said that the decision was taken on June 26 at the meeting of shareholders of VTB.
During the voting, Movsumov gained 13.3 trillion votes for the inclusion of his candidacy to the new Supervisory Board of the Russian bank.
The current composition of the Supervisory Board also includes Matthias Warnig (9.1 trillion votes), Sergey Galitsky (538.5 billion votes), Yves-Thibault de Silguy (9.2 trillion votes), Sergey Dubinin (9.1 trillion votes), Andrey Kostin (9.1 trillion votes), Nikolai Kropachev (9.1 trillion votes), Valery Petrov (9.2 trillion votes), Alexei Ulyukayev (9.1 trillion votes), Vladimir Chistyuhin (9.1 trillion votes) and Andrei Sharonov (9.1 trillion votes).
Minister of Economic Development of Russia Alexei Ulyukayev was elected the chairman of the Supervisory Board of VTB Bank.
At the same time, Russian Deputy Finance Minister Alexey Moiseev, First Deputy Head of the State Duma Mikhail Kopeikin, the rector of Russian Economic School Simeon Djankov and a representative of the minority shareholders of the bank Yelena Popova from the previous composition of the Supervisory Board were not included in the list of candidates.
SOFAZ has a 2.95 percent stake in the second largest Russian bank VTB. The cost of the acquisition was $500 million.
VTB Bank JSC is represented in Azerbaijan through its subsidiary VTB Bank (Azerbaijan) JSC. VTB Bank (Azerbaijan) provides services to corporate business small business clients and private clients. Today the bank is represented by 14 subsidiaries and Customer care office at the head office.
