Money transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan amounted to $1.23 million in July 2015, which is $0.36 million, or 22.6 percent less than in July 2014, said the message released by the National Bank of Georgia.

Most part (46.2 percent or $43.18 million) of transfers from Georgia account for Russia. Russia is followed by Italy - $8.7 million (9.36 percent), the United States - $8.5 million (9.1 percent), Turkey - $6.2 million (6.6 percent). Greece wraps up the top five countries with $4.45 million (4.77 percent).

About $93.4 million was transferred from Georgia abroad in July, which is 31.78 percent less than in the same month in 2014.

At the same time, transfers from Georgia to Azerbaijan decreased by 22.4 percent - up to $577,500 in July 2015. However, taking the third place last month, Azerbaijan continues to remain in the top five countries in remittances to Georgia.

The leader is the Russian Federation, from which over $6.2 million (47.3 percent) were transferred to Georgia in July. The second place belongs to Ukraine with $1.47 million (11.22 percent), Turkey takes the fourth place - $525,100 (four percent). Greece wraps up the top-5 with $308,900 (2.36 percent).

Some $13.1 million was transferred from foreign countries to Georgia for the previous month, which is 13.6 percent less than in July 2014.
