A group for the preparation of normative documents on environmental issues under the ecology department of SOCAR prepared18 different regulations for industrial associations and enterprises of different orientation of the company for the first eight months of 2015, said the message of SOCAR posted on its website.
The message said that the limits of acceptable standards for emissions and leakage of pollutants on each source of pollution have been identified.
"All the documents have been submitted for approval to the state examination department," said the message. "Currently, SOCAR continues work on the preparation of regulatory documents on environment and "Passport of Water Resources."
SOCAR includes production associations: Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical industry enterprises) and Azerigas (gas distribution).
SOCAR is the sole producer of oil products in Azerbaijan. It has two oil refineries on its balance sheet, and also owns filling stations in Azerbaijan, Georgia, Ukraine, Romania and Switzerland.
SOCAR is also a co-owner of the largest Turkish petrochemical complex, Petkim.
