BTC decreases oil transportation through Turkey

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline transported 157.43 million barrels of oil through Turkey in January-July 2015 or by 0.9 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (158.82 million barrels of oil)

Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline transported 157.43 million barrels of oil through Turkey in January-July 2015 or by 0.9 percent less than in the same period of 2014 (158.82 million barrels of oil), Turkey's BOTAS company said Sept. 1.

In total, 260.68 million barrels of oil was transported via BTC through Turkey's territory in 2014, compared to 249.62 million barrels in 2013.

The total length of the BТС is 1,768 kilometers including a 443 kilometer-long section running through Azerbaijan, a 249-kilometer long section in Georgia and a 1,076-kilometer long section in Turkey. The construction of the pipeline started in April 2003. It was filled with oil on May 18, 2005.

BTC Co. shareholders are: BP (30.1 percent), AzBTC (25 percent), Chevron (8.9 percent), Statoil (8.71 percent), ТРАО (6.53 percent), Eni (5 percent), Total (5 percent), Itochu (3.4 percent), as well as, Inpex (2.5 percent), ConocoPhillips (2.5 percent) and ONGC (2.36 percent).

Moreover, some 104.92 million barrels of oil was transported via the Iraq-Turkey pipeline through Turkey's territory in January-July 2015 compared to 15 million barrels in the first seven months of 2014. The pipeline transported 48.66 million barrels of oil in 2014, compared to 91.88 million barrels in 2013.

Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline transported 15.28 million barrels of oil through Turkey's territory in January-July compared to 12.8 million barrels a year earlier. In total, 22.21 million barrels of oil was transported via the Ceyhan-Kirikkale pipeline in 2014, compared to 23.74 million barrels a year earlier.

Batman-Dortyol pipeline transported 11.65 million barrels of oil in January-July 2015, compared to 11.57 million barrels in the same period of 2014.

Batman-Dortyol pipeline transported 14.45 million barrels of oil in 2014, compared to 11.61 million barrels in 2013.
