In the first half of 2015, SOCAR (the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan) imported 20,700 tons of raw materials from Kazakhstan for processing at Baku oil refinery named after Heydar Aliyev, a source in the company told Trend Dec.9.

The source said that at the same time, 18,200 tons of crude oil were delivered from Kazakhstan to Azerbaijan for processing in 2014.

"The Baku oil refinery received 6,000 tons of crude distillation residue, 12,600 tons of M100 fuel oil and 2,100 tons of heating oil in January-July 2015," said the source.

"At the same time, 500 tons of middle distillate for specific processes and 17,700 tons of crude distillation residue were imported from Kazakhstan last year. In 2013, Baku oil refinery received 18,800 tons of middle distillate," the source said.

The source said that various types of oil products obtained as the result of the processing were later sent for export.

Since 2013, SOCAR (represented by SOCAR Trading Middle East DMCC and SOCAR Overseas LLC) has been importing raw materials of Kazakh origin in Azerbaijan for further processing at the refineries of the country.
