SOCAR’s gas output falls

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 6.33 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in January-November 2015 compared to 6.65 bcm in the same period in 2014.

The State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) produced 6.33 billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas in January-November 2015 compared to 6.65 bcm in the same period in 2014, SOCAR said Jan. 4.

SOCAR produced 7.22 bcm of gas in 2014, compared to 7.31 bcm in 2013.

Jointly with foreign investors, SOCAR develops the Azeri-Chirag-Guneshli block of oil and gas fields and the Shah Deniz gas and condensate field.

In total, 26.59 bcm of gas was produced from these fields and from the independently developed fields in January-November 2015 compared to 27.34 bcm in the same period in 2014.

The volume of gas production in Azerbaijan totaled 29.62 bcm in 2014, compared to 30.78 bcm in 2013.

SOCAR includes such production associations as Azneft (the enterprises producing oil and gas onshore and offshore), Azerkimya (the chemical enterprises) and Azerigas (distributes the gas produced in the country), as well as oil and gas processing plants, service companies, and the facilities involved in geophysical and drilling operations.
