The Azerbaijani Compulsory Insurance Bureau has introduced a new e-service - a personal cabinet for citizens, Trend reports referring to the bureau.

The tasks associated with prevention of the spread of COVID-19 pandemic in Azerbaijan, the decisions and recommendations of the Central Bank of Azerbaijan in this sphere require the expansion of the use of e-services.

The Compulsory Insurance Bureau successfully works to ensure the access to the insurance services within the projects developed by the Central Bank for the development of the insurance sector.

For this purpose, the Compulsory Insurance Bureau introduced the service of a personal e-cabinet for citizens to be able to receive insurance certificates and information about insurance events in e-form.

To launch the personal insurance cabinet service, it is necessary to enter the Bureau’s official website (isb.az/en/) and select Asan Imza or E-Imza [which the citizen uses] in the E-xidmet section. Having entered the system through the selected type of e-signature, a citizen may view the insurance certificates in the "Insurance Information" menu.

The personal cabinet service, developed on the basis of the international experience, guarantees citizens the confidentiality of information, including the personal data and will also help save time in case of an insurance event.

Presently, it is possible to get information in the personal insurance cabinet about two types of insurance, which have been fully digitalized and which include "Compulsory insurance of liability of motor vehicle owners" and "Compulsory insurance against disability as a result of industrial accidents and occupational diseases".

In the personal cabinet, citizens may receive information about the history of losses within the compulsory insurance of liability of vehicle owners, as well as the validity period of insurance certificates.

Citizens may also receive detailed information regarding the insurance period, insurance amounts, the paid insurance premiums etc. as part of compulsory insurance against loss of ability to work as a result of industrial accidents and occupational diseases.

“In general, the bureau’s information system contains the data on five types of compulsory insurance, namely, compulsory insurance of civil liability of vehicle owners, compulsory insurance of real estate, compulsory insurance of civil liability in connection with the use of real estate, compulsory insurance of passengers against accidents and compulsory insurance against disability as a result of industrial accidents and occupational diseases,” the bureau added.

“Following digitalization of two of types of insurance, the Central Bank of Azerbaijan and the Bureau are making the necessary efforts in terms of digitalization and other types. The results of this activity will be disclosed to the public in the near future," said the bureau.

The compulsory insurance in Azerbaijan is carried out by insurance companies licensed for a certain type of compulsory insurance and operating under the Compulsory Insurance Bureau.

Currently, there are 15 insurance companies licensed to carry out the compulsory types of insurance, four of which are involved in the field of life insurance, eleven in the field of non-life insurance.

Today, 21 insurance companies and one reinsurance company operate in Azerbaijan.
