Election in Azerbaijan meets int’l standards, says Latvian observer

The parliamentary election in Azerbaijan is being held in accordance with international standards and the country's law, Dainis Turlais, head of the Defence, Internal Affairs and Corruption Prevention Committee of Riga City Council told Trend Nov.1.

The election process in Azerbaijan is not very different from that of other countries, he added.

The parliamentary election is being held in Azerbaijan Nov. 1.

Some 503 international observers from 40 organizations and over 66,000 local observers monitor the parliamentary election in Azerbaijan. As many as 767 candidates claim for 125 seats in the Azerbaijani parliament.
