Azerbaijani Public Political Structures Demand to Refuse OSCE Minsk Group Intervention

Azerbaijan, Baku, 18 march / Trend corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The Public -Political structures of Azerbaijan and the political parties demand to refuse from OSCE Minsk Group.

The project of the Resolution on 'Situation of Occupied territories of Azerbaijan' was adopted by UN General Assembly during 62th session- which was developed by Azerbaijan. Representatives of three member countries of OSCE Minsk Group (United States, Russia and France), which was established for peace settelemtn of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, voted against the resolution, or particularly, against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan.

The International Karabakh Forum of World Azerbaijanis considers that acceptance of the document may be considered as a victory of the foreign policy of the country. "We should have expected that Minks Group Co-chairs may vote against the resolution, particularly, against the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and shall take an anti-Azerbaijani position. From the very beginning, OSCE has been supporting Armenia, and attempting to delay the conflict situation, forcing Azerbaijan to bear 'several realities'. And, the recent event gives Azerbaijan countless ground to refuse from OSCE intermediation," is stated.

The Forum considers that Azerbaijan would mobilize its forces and launch fair war in order to liberate its occupied territories.

The statement by Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) stated support for the document by 39 UN member-countries, which demonstrates fair settlement of the conflict within the framework of international right. DPA stated that abstention to adopt the resolution by other 100 countries, including OSCE member-countries, is a result of Azerbaijani Government' reluctance in showing its base principles during the Lisbon and Istanbul summits of OSCE.

DPA believes that the pro-Armenian position of Co-chairs and Minsk group proposals on regulation of the conflict, which serve to separate Nagorno-Karabakh from Azerbaijan, are not casual. "Taking into consideration such a behavior, we consider dissolving the Minsk group and establishment of a new one," as stated in DPA's statement.

The statement by the political movement Way of Azerbaijan stated that the adoption of Resolution meets the national interests of Azerbaijan, and proves one more time that the proposals of Minsk Group for settlement of the conflict as unfair solution. Way of Azerbaijan demands to inform the population about the course of negotiations on the issue.

The Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) has also demands to refusal for the intermediation of Minsk Group. "The open pro-Armenian position of Minsk Group should not cause concern in Azerbaijan any more. Minsk Group member-countries demonstrated their real positions by voting against the Resolution. Azerbaijan should re-consider its relations with these countries and refuse from any intermediation of the Minsk Group," as stated in KLO statement.

Our Azerbaijan Bloc has also demanded from the Azerbaijani Government to refuse any intermediation of the Minsk Group.

The opposition Azerbaijani National independent Party (ANIP) has demanded to remove OSCE Minsk Group from the negotiation process and to liberate its occupied territories.

Resolution expresses serious concern about the armed conflicts in Nagorno-Karabakh region of Azerbaijan, which continue to create threat to the international security and also negatively affects the situation in the South Caucasus countries.

"General Assembly stated that neither country should recognize legal the situation that occurred as a result of occupation of Azerbaijan's territories," is stated in the document.

The resolution demands immediate, complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Armenian Armed Forces from the occupied territories of Azerbaijan and confirms the inherent right of the Azerbaijani population displaced from their motherland.
