ANAMA Trains New Sappers

Azerbaijan, Ganja, 1 July / Trend corr V.Mammadov / "Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA) has prepared new sappers at the Regional Training Base in the Goygol region," ANAMA operations manager Samir Poladov said to Trend . He said during six weeks local specialists were training 23 new cadets to treat mines and unexploded ammunition. The sappers will be engaged in operations on clearing the country's territory form mined and unexploded ammunition.

"The organizations International Press Fund of Eurasia and Dayag operating under the auspices of ANAMA have 38 sappers. The rest sapper groups are engaged in neutralization of unexploded ammunition in the Agstafa region and neutralization of mines in the Fizuli region's territories which were liberated. Moreover, there is a fast response group of ANAMA including 13 people," Poladov reported.

The cadets, who passed the training, will be appointed to vacant positions in sapper groups.

Ganja is located 365km west of Baku.
