MP: Argentina to open embassy in Azerbaijan

Argentina plans to open an embassy in Azerbaijan in the near future, Argentina-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary group Chairman Roberto Mario Mouilleron said at a meeting in the parliament on Tuesday.

Argentina plans to open an embassy in Azerbaijan in the near future, Argentina-Azerbaijan inter-parliamentary group Chairman Roberto Mario Mouilleron said at a meeting in the parliament on Tuesday.

The inter-parliamentary group's members, who are on visit to Azerbaijan, visited the Azerbaijani parliament on Sept.27.

Mouilleron said the Argentine deputies had very fruitful meetings during the visit and got extensive information about Azerbaijan. He noted that Azerbaijan is a tolerant country with a rich culture and vast natural resources.

"You have passed a long way in a short period of time since the restoration of independence, for 20 years. We believe this development will be continued and Azerbaijan will achieve even greater success," he said.

Azerbaijan-Argentina Inter-parliamentary Friendship Group Chairman Rustam Khalilov said after gaining independence, Azerbaijan has established close ties with Argentina. He expressed hope that this visit of will deepen the relations even more.

Khalilov informed the guests about the socio-economic development of Azerbaijan and country's place in the region. There are also good opportunities for expanding economic relations and trade with Argentina. The opening of the Argentine embassy in Baku will be beneficial to both sides.
