The bodies of the servicemen of Azerbaijani armed forces, who got lost June 23, have been found, the message on the website of the ministry of defense of Azerbaijan said June 25.

The message said that the search for the two re-enlistees, the lance sergeants Musa Musayev and Tural Yolchuyev, who got lost in a forested mountainous area in Azerbaijan's Gazakh district not far from the state border between Azerbaijan and Armenia, was conducted under the mediation of the International Committee of the Red Cross.

The bodies of the servicemen were found June 25 in the mined area at the side opposite to the contact line and carried out from there.

The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988 when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. As a result of the ensuing war, in 1992 Armenian armed forces occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan, including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and seven surrounding districts.

The two countries signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group, Russia, France and the US are currently holding peace negotiations. Armenia has not yet implemented the UN Security Council's four resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the surrounding regions.
