A series of Azerbaijani companies will open their offices in the Turkish Republic of the Northern Cyprus. The Azeri business is striving for investment opportunities there, including in the field of tourism.

Following the announcement, Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev, at a joint conference with visiting Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan, said that Azerbaijan airlines would soon launch air runs to the Northern Cyprus.

The President didn’t exclude a delegation to Lefkosha (Turkish part of Nicosia) by representatives of business circles of Azerbaijan.

“I regret that the recent referendum has failed to justify our hopes, and I think that the (Turkish Republic of the) Northern Cyprus must gain an international recognition,” Aliyev stressed.
