The International Group on Prevention of Crisis (ICG) will publicize on 14 September the report on the Nagorno-Karabkh conflict, director of the ICG Caucasus project Sabina Freiser announced at the news conference on 9 September in Baku, Trend reports.

She noted, reports on the living conditions of the Azerbaijani and the Armenian communities of Karabakh, as well as the organization’s position on settlement of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict will be presented in the report.

According to Freiser, despite the first signs pointing out at the progress in the negotiation process the growth of the defense expenditures and frequent cases of the cease-fire regime violation “are sinister signs that the time for the peace settlement is expiring”.

В"Shield must be put on the road of the mutual hatred propaganda and conditions for the development of the dialogue between the ordinary citizens of Azerbaijan and Armenia” created”, the ICG spokesman noted, saying, at the result of the bloody battles at the beginning of the 90-s , 18,500 persons died and over one million people had to leave their homes.

At the same time, Freiser stated neither of the parties of the conflict displays readiness to accept the variants for the conflict settlement, which are currently under discussion by the Foreign Ministries heads of the both countries in the framework of the negotiation process under the OSCE aegis.

В"The absolute majority of people, who suffered at the result of the conflict do not know the details of the negotiation process”, Freiser noted, saying until the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia do not start to convince their country’s public actively “in the truthfulness of the ideas of the negotiation process” the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is impossible.
