(Regnum) - "The international community is still much to do towards peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

If the sides reach understandings, stationing of international peace-keeping forces in the region is possible, and it will increase our positive role”, the President of Finland Tarya Halonen said in a joint news conference with the President of Armenia Robert Kocharyan in Erevan.

The Armenian President, in his turn, stated that the talks with Azerbaijan in the framework of the Nagorno-Karabakh peaceful settlement process have not been interrupted since 1994 and are held within the OSCE Minsk Group. "There were moments when the sides were close to the possible solution, then something disturbed and the talks passed on to the passive stage.

There is an activation of the negotiation process now and there is some hope that we will be able to succeed”.
