The referendum framework agreement offers for settlement of Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is out of the question, Trend quotes MP Aydin Mirzazadeh, political scientist and member of Political Council of New Azerbaijan Party, opining on Framework agreement offered by Matthew Bryza, American co-chairman of OSCE Minsk Group for Nagorno-Karabakh problem settlement.
MP also stated his personal opinion on the version offered. В"It contains the certain points of interest. First, this is Armenian forces withdrawal from Azerbaijans occupied grounds. Co-chairing countries agree that Azeri grounds are actually occupied by Armenians. Another point is deployment of peace-making forces. These are issues meeting international legal standardsВ", he underlined.
Mirzazadeh also said the proposal on leading referendum in Nagorno-Karabakh may not satisfy Azerbaijan. В"The Constitution does not stipulate referendums in any part of the country. Further, such process may lead to undesired consequences for other countries where Armenian enclaves exist as the precedent is created. Taking al this in consideration, such issue may not be discussed or raisedВ", he added.
