The Head of the Azerbaijani delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), Samad Seyidov, informed Trend that the Azerbaijani delegation will double its actions during discussions over the obligations of Armenia at the winter session of PACE.

Seyidov stated that the Azerbaijan delegation will demonstrate during the discussions over obligations of the PACE member-countries. The reasons why we will increase our action during the discussions over the obligations of Armenia are clear, namely because Armenia retains the Azerbaijani land under its occupation and does not comply with international law. Therefore, Azerbaijan will once again voice its fair position, he said.

With regards to the attitude of the Council of Europe towards Armenia, a country that does not fulfill its obligations, Seyidov stressed that it will be clear after discussions. I think that the Council of Europe and other international organizations have already come to the conclusion that the policy implemented by Armenia creates problems and a source of threat for Europe itself, Seyidov underlined.

He stated that the meeting of the PACE Ad Hoc Committee on Migration, Refugees and Population will take place within the winter session. The meeting will also focus on the report prepared by the Dutch Parliamentarian, Leo Platvoet, regarding missing people, captives and prisoners in South Caucasus. The winter session of the PACE will take place from 22-26 January in Strasburg. The Azerbaijani delegation will leave for Strasburg on 20 January.
