The Russian co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, Yuri Merzlyakov, said on January 25 in Khankendi that discussions were held in Nagorno-Karabakh over the present situation and prospects of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement, Trend reports with reference to Mediamax.

We exchanged views and tried to come to a common conclusion on several questions, said the Russian mediator. Answering the question about the settlement of Kosovo problem, he replied that it creates precedent because for the first time in the European space, the topic of discussions is the former autonomy.

In addition, the co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group from America, Matthew Bryza and France, Bernar Face, opposed against using the Kosovo settlement model as universal. Each conflict has its own peculiarities and difficulties and solution needs to be found for each of them, Bryza said. The mediators left Khankendi to Yerevan.
