Victims of Khojali Genocide Remembered in Embassy of Azerbaijan in Moscow.

Trend R.Agayev / An event took place at the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Russia with regards to the 15th anniversary of Khojali genocide with a presentation of the book by Tofik Musayev and Ilgar Mammadov entitled "Armenian-Azerbaijani Conflict: History, Right, Mediation" dedicated to the history, chronicle and realities of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict.

The attendees remembered the memory of the victims of Khojali tragedy committed by Armenians on 26 February 1992 with a one-minute silence.

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Russia, Polad Bulbuloglu, spoke about the Khojali tragedy, as a result of which more than 600 people were killed randomly, hundreds of people injured or missing. According to him, the Azerbaijani community equates these incidents with genocide and Azerbaijan will achieve the recognition of this brutality by the international community as genocide of the Azerbaijanis. Bulbuloglu said that the memorial events that are held on the initiative of Heydar Aliyev Foundation mean that the whole world is aware of the realities of these incidents.

In addition, he said that presently the Azerbaijani diplomacy makes all efforts to settle Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. "Now Azerbaijan is a sovereign country and the President of the country, Ilham Aliyev, tries to fully utilize the negotiations process and opportunities of diplomacy. We hope for a reasonable impact with larger countries, which have geopolitical interests in the region. We hope for the settlement of all conflicts in a civilized way within the international laws," Bulbuloglu said.

One of the authors of the book, Tofik Musayev, said that the key goal of the book was to investigate the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict from the point of view of international law according to him, the book is actual from the point of view of ensuring the interests of Azerbaijan.

The Director of the International Monitoring Center for Development and Democracy, Stanislav Chernyavski, Teacher of the International State University named after M.Lomonosov, Expert of the Center for Study of Problems of CIS, Alexander Karavayev, Writer and Researcher Ramiz Abutalibov and others highly assessed the publication of the book.
