Azerbaijan, Baku / Тrend corr I. Ali-zade / On 25 October at 3:55a.m, gas escaped from the N208 area of Gum Adasi oil producing unit located in Baku's Surakhani district, causing an explosion which turned into fire. An oil derrick overturned.
Rizvan Guliyev, the head of Azerbaijani Emergency Situations Ministry's Military Fire Service 54, and Natig Abbasov, an employee of the Service, suffered injuries as a result of the explosion, according to the Azerbaijani Interior Office.
An investigation has been launched.
