Azerbaijan, Khachmaz, 15 January / Trend corr. А.Gafarov / A fire caused the death of one person, in the region of Gusar on 15 January at 2.10am. The Azerbaijani Internal Ministry press-service reported to Trend that there was an explosion in the apartment of Samaddin Imanguliyev, a resident of the village of Sdamur.
As a result of the incident, everything was completely burnt out.
The body of Hakim Tagiyev, a former prisoner, who lived temporarily in the apartment, was found after the fire was extinguished.
An investigation has been started.
A Trend regional reporter said that law-enforcement bodies of the region have been investigating the case. A can of gasoline was also found in the apartment. Such a discovery compelled the police to consider other causes of death of Tagiyev. There may have been other people in the apartment.
Ibrahim Orujev, the chief of the State Anti-Fire Security Department, stated that Department workers went to the scene of the incident two hours later.
Gusar region is located 230km north of Baku.
