Azerbaijan, Baku, 16 January / corr. Trend E. Huseynli/ An earthquake struck in the north-west region of Azerbaijan at about noon on 16 January.
The epicenter of the earthquake was 352 kilometers north-west of Baku in the city of Sheki, Gurban Yetirmishli, the Deputy Director of the Republic Center of Seismology of the National Academy of Sciences of Azerbaijan said to Trend. The earthquake was recorded as number two on the Richter Scale.
No serious damage or injuries have been reported.
Ten palpable earthquakes have been registered in Azerbaijan in the last year, no significant damage was caused and there were no victims.
