Azerbaijan, Baku, 19 January / corr. Trend E. Huseinli/ The number of traffic accidents in Azerbaijan decreased by 2.9% in 2007.
3104 traffic accidents have registered in 2007 as a result of which 4539 people suffered, 1107 died, 3432 people received wounds, State Statistical Committee of Azerbaijan said.
43.3% of the traffic accidents took place with the participation of vehicles and pedestrians, 36.7% with several vehicles, and 20% with the participation of one vehicle, the Committee said.
