( dpa )- Israeli troops fired late Sunday at Lebanese civilians near the Ghajjar area in southern Lebanon, wounding at least two people, local media and Lebanese army sources reported.

Local radio reports quoting Israeli media said Israeli soldiers exchanged fire with Lebanese gunmen along the border.

The Israeli reports indicated that "the gunfire started from the Lebanese side, which prompted the Israeli soldiers to fire back and hit the gunmen."

Last month two Katyusha rockets were fired from Lebanon at the Israeli town of Shlomi , causing only material damage.
