Karabakh Liberation Organization Not Allowed to Hold Meeting Under Open Sky

Azerbaijan, Baku, 31 May / Trend corr. I.Alizade / The law enforcement bodies of Agdam and Barda regions, did not allow the Karabakh Liberation Organization (KLO) to hold a meeting under open

sky. "The law enforcement bodies of Agdam and Barda regions did not even allow us to come to Barda," Akif Nagi, Chairman of KLO, told Trend on 31 May.

KLO was planned to hold the meeting under an open sky on 31 May. The agenda of the meeting included to read out the report by the chairman of the organization, as well as to elect new chairman and head of the organization.

The KLO was established in Baku on 28 January 2000, with the objective of a public struggle for the liberation of Nagorno-Karabakh. KLO unites representatives of intelligentsia, refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs), old and young people as well as former military soldiers.

"At present, the participants of the meeting are kept in the police station in Barda. The police chiefs from Barda and Agdam came to the scene of action. The meeting in Barda and Agdam will not be sanctioned. The force is used against the participants," the Chairman stated.

The Chairman stated that the participants from Beylagan and Tartar regions were also not allowed to the meeting.
