Earthquake in Iran: Damages Reported

Azerbaijan, Baku, 4 July /corr. Trend T.Cafarov/ Earthquake measuring 5.2 on the Richter scale took place in Kodkan city of Iran's region of Turbat Heydariyye, IRINN channel reported.

According to the information by Seismic Service Center of Tehran University, the earthquake took place at 03:20a.m on 4 July.

Executive representative of Kodkan city of Turbat Heydariyye region, Mehdi Khosravi, said that yet the consequences of the earthquake are being investigated, but tens of village houses have collapsed as a result of earthquake.

According to him, the quake had its epicentre in Mulkuh Mountains near Dafi village. Currently the employees of Iran's Red Cross Society and volunteers render assistance in this region.

The Director of Seismic Service Center, Gurban Yetirmishli, told Trend on 4 July that the earthquake in Iran was not felt in Azerbaijan.
