Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 August / Trend , corr. S.Ilhamgizi / The explosion which occurred on the section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which passes through Turkey's province of Arzinjan is an act of terror, Jihan news agency reported.
The PKK terrorist organization assumed responsibility for this incident. Jihan reported that the organization stated that the explosion was an attempt committed by the terrorists.
In night of 5 August, an explosion occurred on section of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline, which passes through Turkey's province of Arzinjan, due to technical problems. The fire is still continuing.
The reason of the explosion will be made clear only after the fire is fully extinguished, a source at Turkey's Interior Ministry told Trend . More exact investigations will be held after the fire is extinguished. The Ministry neither confirmed nor refuted the statement by PKK.
