Heavy rains in the Azerbaijani Hajigabul region (110 km far from Baku) flooded about 800 homes.

Homes in four streets of the region's center have been damaged most of all, chairman of the Emergency Situations Commission of the Hajigabul region, Sahib Aslanov told Trend on Oct.8.

According to Aslanov, the water is pumped out of the homes' yards through pumps and other equipment of the Emergency Situations Ministry (ESM). "Currently, we are pumping water from yards of about 100 houses," the chairman added.

Infrastructure of the region center and population's personal economy was not severely damaged.

On Sunday - Sept. 21, heavy rains in the Nevahi and Ranjbar villages destroyed more than 300 homes. Further, the natural disaster also seriously crippled the Neftchala and Shirvan regions. The disaster seriously damaged agriculture of these regions, especially livestock. About 70 percent of the Hajigabul region centre was flooded. About 300 meters of railway tracks have gone out of order.
