The Georgian government has allocated five million lari ($ 1 = 1.67 lari) to aid the people affected from the earthquake in Racha. Restoration work in the region will begin in the coming days, Georgian Prime Minister Nika Gilauri said.

The Minister for Regional Development and Infrastructure, David Tkeshelashvili made a report on the work done in the aftermath of the earthquake in Racha.

He said the government decided to assist the people affected from the earthquake last week and restoration work will begin in few days.

The work will be conducted in two directions: determining a house not needing repair and in this case, money compensation will be provided, said Tkeshelashvili. "While the government takes other decision, this population will be given compensation so that people can spend the winter," said the minister.

The second category includes the house - only 1,500, which should be repaired.
