Houses allocated to the displaced people in Azerbaijani western settlement Hajikand collapsed.

Torrential rain began on Monday at 11.00 p.m. and destroyed the city's infrastructure and worsened living conditions, Goygol region executive power deputy chief Turani Aliyev told Trend.

As a result of downpour continuing about an hour, houses of people displaced from Kalbajar region were flooded. About 30 houses became uninhabitable as a result of flooding.

Staff of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is working at the scene.

Internally displaced people informed about the incident to officials of the Kalbajar region Executive Power.

As a result of heavy rains, traffic on the highway Ganja-Togana-Kalbajar was blocked and two bridges were destroyed.


Landslide processes intensified at 16,6 km of highway Ganja-Togana-Kalbajar passing through the territory of the village Ashigly in Khanlar region.

"As a result, new cracks were formed 10-15 meters in length and 20-25 centimeters in width. Electrical poles and power lines were broken. Landslide occurred in the village of Upper Dashkesan in Dashkesan region. Landslide area is 10-12 centimeters in width and 50 meters in length. There was a threat of destruction of a supporting wall of the secondary school ", the message said.
