Several men opened fire from their vehicles on a Baku street last night, the Azerbaijani Interior Ministry reported.

The Azerbaijani Interior Ministry announced the names of people who opened fire, the Interior Ministry said. Violators of law and order were Anar Dadashov, Movsum Nuriyev and Parviz Tagiyev. Policemen of the Surakhani district police department found three shells at the scene.

The criminal case was filed under article 221 (hooliganism) and 228 (illegal possession of firearms) of the Azerbaijani Criminal Code.

Interior Minister Ramil Usubov confirmed the shooting.

"Last night fire was exchanged from two cars," he said. "There were no witnesses at the scene. But we have identified the perpetrators through cameras."  

Police have detained Baku resident Anar Dadashev.

The cars and their license plates were identified using road surveillance cameras.
