Azerbaijani citizen 20-year-old Sadikh Aliyev drowned near the shore of Beyoglu district of Istanbul City on Sunday around 19.00 local time, the Cihan agency reported.
According to witnesses, Aliyev went into the water to swim in a dangerous place, and soon began to drown. Attempts by friends to help a drowning man were unsuccessful.
Arrived on the scene Coastguards and maritime police found the body of Sadikh Aliyev after an hour of searching. According to eyewitnesses, representatives of the Coast Guard and marine police arrived only after 45 minutes after they were called.
Soon the relatives of the deceased arrived at the scene.
