Azerbaijani Embassy in Jordan, accredited in Iraq, began to hand over the body of Azerbaijani pilgrim Intigam Rustamov home, the embassy in Amman told Trend.
Rustamov died when Hyundai bus carrying the Azerbaijani pilgrims was blown up by a land mine in the Iraqi province of Diala on Oct.13.
Three injured pilgrims Aslanov Elvin, Abdullayev Elchin Tahir and Abdullayev Elchin Vahid are in hospital. Their health condition is stable.
The Azerbaijani embassy is waiting for passports, which are in the bus with the rest pilgrims, who arrived at the place of pilgrimage in Karbala, to return the body of the deceased pilgrim and injured people.
The Iraqi Health Ministry and Interior Ministry confirmed the Azerbaijani pilgrim's death, the Embassy said.
Earlier, Intigam's name was included in the list of injured people.
All pilgrims received visas in Iraqi Embassy in Baku.
This is not the first tragic incident with Azerbaijani pilgrims in Iraq. In January, a bus with Azerbaijani pilgrims was shot near the Iraqi city of Kerbala. As a result, a 16-year-old girl was killed and three others were injured.
