Azerbaijani border guards prevented illegal drug trafficking in large quantities, State Customs Committee said.
Customs officials in Astara region found 24 kg 900 g hashish resin masked under the sand sacks in KAMAZ truck driven by resident of Astara town Ramesh Jafarov who submitted documents for sand shipment from Iran to Azerbaijan. 28 780 g heroin was found in the baggage of the resident of Lankaran town Gahraman Feyzullayev hiking from Iran to Azerbaijan. 186 902 g hashish was found in the shoes of other Lankaran resident Muruvvet Eyvazov. Officers of the Shirvanovka customs check-point found 3 kg 980 g hashish resin packages clamped to his legs.
