Traffic police revealed 12 cases of illegal drug trafficking in Azerbaijan during the first quarter of this year.
On the revealed facts 6 kilograms 625 grams of drugs (6 kilograms 618 grams of marijuana, 7.933 grams of heroin) were seized from illegal trafficking, the Azerbaijani Main State Traffic Police Department said.
During the reporting period, the traffic police detained eight individuals wanted by police and handed them over to the investigative authorities. Traffic police seized a Kalashnikov, a pneumatic gun and 622 cartridges of various calibres.
