The preliminary cause of the train and passenger bus collision, which took place yesterday in Azerbaijan and led to casualties, is the negligence of employees of the two structures of the Ministry of Transport, Deputy Transport Minister Musa Panahov said today at the enlarged session on the state of security in the transport sector of Azerbaijan.
On Saturday, an enlarged meeting on the security in the transport sector of the country was held in Baku under the chairmanship of Deputy Transport Minister Musa Panahov, Azerbaijan Railways said.
The meeting was attended by representatives of the structural units of the Ministry, as well as private carriers.
The traffic accident occurred on Aug. 31 on the stretch of Putah - Heybat. The train following on route Agstafa - Baku collided with DAEWOO bus (license number 10-TF-427) at secured crossing.
The head of the transportation security department Kazim Sharifov provided details of the road accidents that occurred in 2011 and the first eight months of 2012.
In conclusion, Panahov gave instructions aimed at major turn in the field of security in the transport sector.
