Azerbaijani The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Prosecutor General's Office released information on fire in Sumgait on Monday.
"On September 17 at 17:00 fire occurred in 6 fuel containers at "House Things" LLC and as a result of explosion the fire spreaded surroundings", - information reads.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations and Sumgait prosecutor's office workers as well as equipments, machinery and helicopters of the Ministry of Emergency Situations immediately arrived in the incident place and took urgent measures prevent spreading of fire and to make first aid injured people as a result of explosion.
Sumgayit city Prosecutor's Office launched criminal case on the articles 162.2 (labor protection violation) and 225.2 (fire safety violation) of AR Criminal Code.
As a result of initial investigation it was revealed that fire safety violation and labor protection violations were not avoided during the welding of fuel container.
As a result of incident 2 people died, 2 injured and one is missing.
Accurate names of died and injured people are investigated.
Measures to extinguish fire continue.
