Suleiman Abu Qais, the son-in-law of the former leader of al-Qaeda terrorist organisation, Osama bin Laden, has been deported from Turkey, Sabah newspaper announced on Thursday.

Abu Qais was arrested in Ankara on January 13 during a wide scale operation of the Turkish intelligence and the security forces. After the arrest Turkey offered Kuwait whose citizenship Abu Qais has, to return him to that country.

According to the newspaper, Kuwait first refused to accept Abu Qais who had been deprived from its citizenship, but then the Turkish ministry of foreign affairs convinced Kuwait during negotiations to accept him.

As a result Abu Qais was deported from Istanbul to Kuwait.
