A skirmish between Syrian refugees and police has taken place on the Syrian-Turkish border in the province of Hatay, Anadolu agency reported on Thursday.
A group of Syrian refugees refused entry to Turkey, opened fire on police and border guards. As a result, one border guard was injured.
Clashes between the government forces and the armed opposition have been on-going in Syria for over two years. According to UN statistics, the death toll in Syria has reached 70,000 and nearly three million people are in need of humanitarian assistance. Syrian authorities say they oppose the well-armed militants.
