Two strong earthquakes occurred in Iran's Ilam province last night, IRNA news agency reported on Nov.23.

According to the report, tremors occurred at around 22:00 local time on November 22. The strength of the first quake was 5.4 on the Richter scale, while the second was 5.6 points.

According to the report, the residents of Ilam province's several cities, including Ivan and Chavar, spent the night on the street. The classes were cancelled on Nov.23.

To the current moment, some 34 tremors were recorded in the province after the strong earthquakes. Rescuers and relevant specialists have been sent to the mountain villages of Ilam province to determine the amount of damage caused by the earthquake.
