A homemade explosive device targeted the office of Interior Minister Yiannis Michelakis late Tuesday, Greek eKathimerini reported.
According to initial reports, the bomb was placed outside the minister's political office situated on Amerikis Street in central Athens, FOCUS News Agency reported.
No injuries were deported in the blast which did cause some damage to the building.
Reacting to the attack, Michelakis noted that those trying to destabilize and a develop a sense of fear in society were bound to fail. "This country has institutions. Democracy cannot be terrorized," the minister said.
